Firsts

I grew up in the country, eating from the garden and having homemade everything, so occasionally there a food items that I've never tried. An example being pop tarts. I had my first pop tart 2 years ago, my cousins and I sat down with two boxes of pop tarts (one strawberry and one smores) and we had a taste test. While I haven't eaten them since, and don't plan to, it was still fun to add another thing to my "What I've eaten" list. And today I got to add something else. McCain Deep and Delicious frozen chocolate cake. It was with Stacey and I was about to bring my camera but she protested so I was going to leave it behind, but then changed her mind as she realized this was one of those big moments.

Mmmhmmm...

So, while I am the creator and eater of many things that have nothing to do with a freezer or hydrogenated products I have no problem admitting that I enjoyed my first ever frozen chocolate cake.

The Labyrinth

On Sunday, what a beautiful Sunday it was, my Ma, my cousin, my Ant (this is not a spelling mistake), and I went and took a walk at the Carol Shields labyrinth in Kings Park. It was such a gorgeous day (and gorgeous women) that I had to take some pictures.

It is a beautiful park and a beautiful labyrinth. If you've never checked it out before try and go before the leaves fall and the frost comes. Speaking of leaves...

they're a'changin'!

Weekend in the Country

I spent the last couple of days out in the country visiting Brenda, Larry, Isabelle, and Duncan. They're my family and I love them. Especially when the play "Follow the Leader" down the lane.

I love being in the country (as you may know by now) and it was so wonderful to relax and be away from the big city.

One thing I particularly love about going to the country and to this house especially is that there is usually a suprise visitor or two...And its usually the same suprise visitors...Brad and Sherry, more of my extended family!

Oh, and Batman and a pirate showed up...

We took a walk down the lane last night and did 'farmer stuff', like taste canola seeds:

and hide in ditches:

Okay, so maybe farmer's don't do the last two things....

I love spending time with these folks.

And I love having chocolate syrup for breakfast.

More fun with chocolate wafers

It wasn't hot yesterday but I still spent some time in the basement experimenting with more chocolate creations.

I think everyone should have their name spelled out in sprinkles at least once in their life.

Stacey

I've never formally introduced her to you all but you have seen pictures of her....its Stacey!

Stacey is my brother Zach's girlfriend...but I like to call her my friend.

She makes funny faces...

And as of today she's a talented ceramic artist!

...and so am I.

What do you do when it's too bloody hot outside to operate?

You sit in the basement and make chocolate butterflies for hours and place them on chocolate cupcakes...

Then you wait until at least 6:00 pm before venturing out and delivering the cupcakes to a brand new 12 year old.

Visitors

For the past few days we've had family visiting from Florida. My cousin, her husband, and their two boys. They are my favorite people in the state of Florida...and actually in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. They're pretty awesome.
